Lots of hot tub and spa owners use a floating dispenser, as a rule its the usual blue and white floating dispenser that we have all seen before and will see many times again. But how about trying something different a floating novelty Derby Duck, Dolphin or Frog Dispenser , these can be used with either chlorine or bromine tablets. They will bring a little smile to other spa users and add a little fun to the spa experience just for being different. Requirements for Hot Tub and Spa hire.

What you require at home
Base or site A flat level base to site the hot tub or spa, this can be slabbed, concrete, blocks, decking or any firm hard standing. Grassed areas are not ideal but in some cases using such as OSB board (2 x 8ft x 4ft boards) or similar this may be possible, if the ground is flat level and hard during the summer months a plastic sheet (to be supplied by the customer) could be used but please consult us for advice .
Electric and water supply
You will also require of course access to electric and a water supply, all our hot tubs and spas come with a cable and plug however if this will not reach your supply please ensure that you have a suitable extension cable available. The spa will be filled using your hosepipe from your domestic supply if you do not have a hosepipe please let us know and we can bring one for you to use.The Haliburton and Spa n a Box will take approx 24hrs (up to 30hrs during the winter months) to heat up to full temperature, however the Canterbury and Omni will take approx 10hrs. All the spas can be helped to reach full temperature by using hot water from the household domestic supply.

Usefull Tips For Clean Hot Tub, Jacuzzi and Spa Water.

1. Detergent is a major contaminant of your hot tub water, to combat this place the swimwear to be used in the spa into your washing machine on a quick wash with no washing powder or comfort softener this will ensure the garments are rinsed and all detergent deposits are removed. This will also help to reduce what we call " foaming " which is a by product of detergent saturation.
2. Ensure all users shower before use, ensuring that the likes of deodorant, hair spray, hair gel, make up, perfume etc are removed before entering the spa.
3. Use hydrotherapy oils, gels, liquids sparingly and if you can manage without them do so, these will only affect the water quality.
4. Do clean filters on a regular basis as instructed by your hot tub manufacturer, this will make a significant difference to your water, do not expect clear sparkling water if you cannot spare the time to clean the filters. Use a filter cleaner once a month to de-grease the filters in addition to the weekly cleaning which is a minimum requirement. Also change the hot tub water on a regular basis making sure to " spa flush " the spa at least once a year to help reduce the build up of chemicals in the pump, pipes and heaters.
5. Chemicals must be applied as instructed by the spa manufacturer, this may be chlorine, bromine or such products as Aquafinesse or Aquasafe 90. With all products the water chemistry must be considered at all times and testing may be required with some chemical systems.
6. When using your hot tub or spa advise other users to treat the area around the spa as "a clean area" this applies in particular with respect to the younger users who will give little thought to running around the garden in their bare feet and then entering the hot tub. With a small amount of effort and common sense procedures your hot tub, spa or jacuzzi water could be clean and sparkling all the time.
